Multiplatinum global superstar Camila Cabello released her self-titled full-length debut, Camila last week. As one of the first most anticipated albums of 2018, the record immediately captured #1 on the iTunes Overall Top Albums and Top Pop Albums charts. Around the world, it has peaked at #1 on iTunes in 96 countries thus far, speaking to her presence as an international force everywhere.

WATCH:

Among its blockbuster tracklisting, the record includes the RIAA double-platinum smash “Havana” [feat. Young Thug].  “Havana” recently crossed 765 cumulative streams and counting fast approaching the billion mark. Making history, the song achieved “the longest run at #1 on Top 40 Radio by a female artist in five years” in addition to occupying the #2 position on the Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks and the top three for ten weeks. Having spent 5 weeks at #1 – “Havana” is also the “longest running female #1 single in the UK since Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’ in 2011.” Globally, she stands out as the “most-streamed female artist on Spotify” and “2nd most-streamed artist on Spotify” in addition to becoming the “first female artist to achieve over 40 million monthly listeners.

Right out of the gate, the record has garnered widespread critical acclaim. Entertainment Weekly raved, “Camila is defiantly her own pop star on debut album,” and USA Today praised how, “Camila is a vibrant blend of sounds and styles. In a 4-out-of-5 star review, The Times London applauded its unpredictability—“Like the hit that made her name, it is rather unexpected.” The New York Times dubbed her “an avatar for young girls on the cusp of steeper emotional terrain, and NME called the collection “a strong and surprisingly confident impression.Stereogum predicted, “The groundwork is laid for Camila to be a blockbuster success, while Billboard put it best, “Cabello has vocally, lyrically and impressively established that she was always meant to be simply Camila.”
