Hot Talk: The Best Chatter on Facebook this Week

“The whole issue of sexuality is so grey… It’s cool that you don’t have to nail everything down any more. That whole certainty about whether you’re straight or gay or whatever.”

Actress KRISTEN STEWART, who has openly dated women, telling The Guardian (U.K.) she welcomes a future without labels.
“They may have been phony in the past, but they’re real now.”

“I’m worried that a child placement agency may make what is in the best interest of the child a correct decision but be subject to a lawsuit by someone who has a little bit of a leg up by virtue of being in a protective class.”

South Dakota Governor DENNIS DAUGAARD, who just became the first governor to sign a law legalizing discrimination against LGBTQ people in 2017.
“Once I saw we were not the ultimate arbiters of divine truth but flawed human beings, I couldn’t pretend otherwise… I couldn’t justify our actions – especially our cruel practice of protesting funerals and celebrating human tragedy. These shifts in my perspective contributed to a larger erosion of trust in my church, and eventually it made it impossible for me to stay.”

MEGAN PHELPS-ROPER, daughter of unofficial spokeswoman of the notorious hate group Westboro Baptist Church, based in Topeka, Kansas, explaining why she left the church in 2012..
“You know what, Americans have choices, and they’ve got to make a choice. And so maybe, rather than getting that new iPhone that they just love and want to go spend hundreds of dollars on, maybe they should invest in their own health care.”

Rep. JASON CHAFFETZ (R-Utah), telling CNN that obtaining health care is a personal responsibility for Americans.
“The Orange One’s new budget would decrease funding to programs such as Meals on Wheels, leaving many of our elderly hungry. Because many can’t cook, a meal is the only thing keeping them out of nursing homes, which they can’t afford. ‘Make America Great Again,’ my ass! How about a few less million dollar-plus trips to Florida and a few more meals for our senior citizens?”
