Comedian Carlos Mencia will be doing his stand-up act at the Palm Beach Improv from tonight through Sunday. Mencia began his career doing stand-up on amateur night at the world-renowned comedy club, Laugh Factory. After he found success on the L.A comedy circuit, Mencia was named “International Comedy Grand Champion” from Buscando Estrellas (the Latino version of Star Search). This led to appearances on “In Living Color,” “The Arsenio Hall Show,” “Moesha” and “An Evening at the Improv,” and the rest is history! General admission is $30, with VIP admission $50. Whitney – The Documentary premieres today in South Florida and is an in-depth look at the life and music of Whitney Houston which reveals many never before heard secrets of Whitney and her family’s life. Directed by Kevin Macdonald, and stars Whitney Houston, Bobbi Kristina Brown, Bobby Brown, Cissy Houston, and many other Houston family members and friends. The movie is 120 mins in length and is rated R.
Rumors is celebrating the birthday of their Friday night hostess, Daisy Deadpetals. The night will be an all-out bash and star many special guests and music by DJ Josh Atom.

The Stonewall National Museum presents “Villa Rosa” with Cuban filmmaker Lázaro González in person at their Wilton Manors location (2157 Wilton Drive) at 7pm. Through a combination of fiction and documentary, “Villa Rosa” addresses sexual diversity, gender identity and the culture of LGBT resistance in a seemingly macho town that has become a place of greater acceptance of sexual diversity in Cuba. Free to attend, but there is a $5 suggested donation. Seating is limited and on a first come first serve basis with refreshments provided courtesy of Barefoot Wine & Bubbly.
SAGE/Pride Film Series presents Cloudburst at 1:15pm in the Main Hall of The Pride Center at Equality Park. Winner of the Atlantic Canada Award for Best Screenplay and the People’s Choice Audience Award at the 2011 Atlantic Film Festival, and the Audience Choice Awards at the Cinefest Sudbury and Edmonton International Film Festivals. It stars Olympia Dukakis, and follows a lesbian couple’s escape from a nursing home and their journey to Canada to get married. Along the way they pick up a young, male hitchhiker. (The film includes male nudity.) Free of charge and open to all. Popcorn and sodas will be served.
