Hot List: Top 10

TELEVISION –Billboard Latin Music Awards – takes place on Telemundo on Thursday, April 27, from 8-11p.m. The awards honor the biggest music stars, and features performances by top artists across all genres of Latin music.
CONCERTS – Red Hot Chili Peppers – perform at the American Airlines Arena in support of their 11th album, “The Gateway.” The concert takes place on April 29, and to purchase tickets go to AAArena.com

CABLE – Dear White People – premieres on Netflix on Friday, Apr. 28.This show is based on the indie film of the same name and satirizes the white establishment as it exists on an Ivy League college campus. Told from the perspective of a handful of black students.
MOVIES – The Circle –  A woman lands a dream job at a powerful tech company called the Circle, only to uncover a nefarious agenda that will affect the lives of humanity. Opens April 28 and stars Emma Watson, Tom Hanks, John Boyega, and Karen Gillan
RUNNING – Mercedes-Benz Corporate Run – is a three circuit 5K Run Walk, on Thursday, April 27, from 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm. a portion of the proceeds from the Miami run will benefit United Way. For more info: MercedesBenzCorporateRun.com.

 

COMEDIENNE – Ron White – his sometimes-warped comedic commentaries come from a feisty, testosterone-laden, good ol’ boy viewpoint. His unsubtle and obnoxious humor definitely contains mature material performs at the Hard Rock Live on Thursday, April 27, at 8p.m.  Tickets start at $40.

ANIMALS – Pups & Pints – Fans can bring their pups to Concrete Beach Brewery while helping other dogs find a forever-home with the help of Paws 4 You. The event features Dishes for Dogs food for the humans. Sunday, April 30 from 12- 5 .pm. For more info 305-796-2727

MOVIES – How to Be a Latin Lover – is a comedy about a man finding himself dumped, who made a career of seducing rich older women, and moves in with his estranged sister, where he begins to learn the value of family. April 28 & stars Eugenio Derbez, Salma Hayek, Rob Lowe, & Kristen Bell

SHOW TUNES – Aaron Tveit – is a true Broadway Baby, with a resume including Rent, Grease & Wicked. Mixing dazzling renditions of show tunes, standards, & pop favorites with anecdotes and humor. Parker Playhouse on April 29, tickets start at $33.

MOTOWN – Soul Crooners – is a finger-snapping celebration of the 1970s, featuring signature hits such as Superstition; Papa Was a Rolling; and I Feel Good. Plays April 27-30 at Kravis Center, and tickets start at $30.
