Featuring outrageous costumes, hilarious rewrites of the songs you know and dead-on impressions by a stellar cast, the City of Aventura presents the fall-down funny musical roast Forbidden Broadway at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center today and tomorrow at 8pm. Tickets are $40–$45 at Aventuracenter.org.

The Pub presents the return of the Synergy Twins at 9pm and then again on Tuesday Jan 8 at 9pm. The vibe and the violins are electric and the performance is one of a kind. Let twins Steve and Jeff take you on a feel good, high energy musical journey that seamlessly combines well known classics and the latest dance tunes.

The GLLN is pleased to announce the recipient(s) of their 2019 Gala fundraising event at their Social Luncheon at Tee Jay Thai Sushi (2254 Wilton Drive) from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. The cost is $30 for Members and $35 for Non-Members at Glln.org.  

Friday, Jan 4

The Pub presents the return of Lady Bunny at 9:30pm (if you can’t make tonight she will also be there on Sunday, Jan6 at 9pm). Lady Bunny’s filthy mouth offers scowling, spiky comedy, laced with political jabs and honeyed with southern fried gregariousness.

Saturday, Jan 5

The Outlandish Comedy Series 2019 premieres tonight with the one and only Varla Jean Merman in “Under A Big Top” at 8pm at the Sunshine Cathedral. Step right up and prepare to be amazed, dazzled, and even possibly disturbed as this drag superstar makes her Outlandish debut with this circus-themed show that will feature jaw-dropping videos, awe-inspiring songs and death defying wigs. Scandals Saloon presents “Hoedown” at 9:30pm hosted by Alex.

Georgie’s Alibi/Monkey Bar presents “Pure Circuit Miami” with music by DJ/Producer Carlos G.

The Ramrod presents Pig Dance #125 (first Saturday of every month) from 10pm to 3am with this month’s guest DJ Doug Jackson.

The Club Fort Lauderdale features their bi-monthly (1st and 3rd Saturday of the month) Res-Erection Naked Blackout event at 10 p.m. This is always a sold-out event, so get there early!

Noche Latina Saturdays in the Ivy Dance Room and Patio at the Manor Complex presents “Los 3 Reyes Magos” starring Taina Norell and Lana Novva Lanudde, along with DJ Cubano Miik and sexy Latin Go-Go Papi’s. Saturdays at the Manor are from 11pm to 4 am and feature NO COVER before midnight (FL Res) and only $7 for members after midnight and $10 for non-members (18-20 – $12 all night).

Sunday, Jan 6

Flip Flops Dockside Eatery presents their monthly T Dance (first Sunday of the month) from 4 to 7p.m., hosted by Amanda Austin with DJ Robert Lavalle spinning and this month’s special guests: Cathy Craig, Dominique Taylor and Starlet Skye.  

The Pub presents Brutbears the Bear Necessi-T Dance form 4-9pm with DJ Alex Ferbeyre and Go-Go bear dancers.

Art Frenzie was just appointed by the Estate of Steve Walker to be the main distributor of all his works. They have been an authorized distributor since 1997 when they first brought him down to South Florida for his first show, but now they are the authorized publisher & distributor which is quite an honor & they are looking for some galleries around the country to be distributors. The Titan Games 8pm (Fox) – Thursday, Jan 3

Dwayne Johnson inspires everyday people to compete in head-to-head battles against reigning Titans. In this new athletic competition, competitors step inside the Titan arena and compete in battles designed to test their minds, bodies and hearts. If a contender defeats one of the six reigning Titans, they take their place and join the elite Titan group.

76th Annual Golden Globe Awards 8pm (NBC) – Sunday, Jan 6

The award show that honors the best in film and television. Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg are hosting this year’s ceremony where Roma, A Star Is Born, Black Panther and more face off for Best Drama.

The Bachelor 8pm (ABC) – Monday, Jan 7

Colton Underwood will continue his journey to find love now as The Bachelor, dating 25 women to try and find the one. Tears, virginity talk and fence scaling will make up his rollercoaster season.

America’s Got Talent: The Champions 8pm (NBC) – Monday, Jan 7

Favorite contestants from 184 countries return to compete for the first-ever title of AGT Champion. This spin-off features the ultimate display of talent, as the most memorable acts and performers from previous seasons return to the stage. They’ll join favorites from international versions of the competition to compete in hopes of taking home the first-ever winter title of “America’s Got Talent” Champion.
