Fifth Estate Entertainment is proud to announce tour casting for the mind-blowing, face melting, nothin’ but a good time, audience favorite Rock Of Ages. The multi Tony Award-nominated show comes to the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts November 6 – 11.
It’s 1987 on Hollywood’s Sunset Strip when a small-town girl meets a big city rocker and they fall in love in L.A.’s most famous rock club. Rock Of Ages allows fans to rock out once again to their favorite ‘80s hits. Featuring the music of iconic bands such as Styx, Poison, Twisted Sister, and Whitesnake among many others, this Tenth Anniversary production features a dynamic new cast revisiting the larger than life characters and exhilarating story that turned Rock Of Ages into a global phenomenon.
Leading the cast are Anthony Nuccio as “Drew Boley,” Katie LaMark as “Sherrie Christian,” John-Michael Breen as “Lonny,” Sam Harvey as “Stacee Jaxx,” Ryan M. Hunt as “Dennis,” Chris Renalds as “Franz,” Kristina Walz as “Regina,” Kenya Hamilton as “Justice,” and Andrew Tebo as “Hertz.” The tour will also feature Michael Bojtos, Emily Croft, Kyle Jurassic, Mark LaDuke, Carlina Parker, Darrell Wayne Purcell, Stephen Rochet, Zoe Unkovich, and Brenna Wahl.
Were you always a ham, even as a kid?
Yeah, I grew up on old Hollywood monster movies and movie musicals. It’s the only thing that kept me enraptured as a kid. I started doing Community Theater at 6, and as I got older I got more and more involved. I did my first professional production at 12 in Massachusetts (where I grew up).
What was your first professional/paid gig?
It would have been a production at Nine at Northshore Music Theater when I was 12 years old.
Other than this one, which role has been your favorite to play and why?
I would say when I played Benjamin the Graduate. It was a really big challenge and it was super dialogue heavy. It helped me hone my comedic skills and timing.
What is your fantasy role?
Oh boy, I am dying to play any of the male roles in Angels in America or the MC in Cabaret.
How did you get cast in Rock of Ages?
It was about a 3 week audition process. I went to an open call in NYC and from there I had a first call back for a couple characters (Lonnie, Stacy, and Drew). Then I had a dance call back a week later. A week after that I had my final call back with the entire creative team. The next morning I got the offer for Lonnie, and the rest is history.
What should South Florida audiences expect out of this touring company of Rock of Ages?
With this 10 anniversary tour, they are really focusing on the story and characters and honoring the heart of the show. We also have a killer band with us that plays the whole show live every night. If you think you know Rock of Ages, give this tour a chance as I think we will impress you.
Are you looking forward to coming to South Florida?
I am super excited about coming down to Florida and seeing some friends, experiencing some great live bands, and of course partaking in the beautiful weather.
