The Museum of Discovery and Science is launching a new adults-only series, Discovery after Dark, designed for the 21+ crowd. This quarterly series will kick off with, The Science of Beer, from 6:30 – 9pm. This event unites beer lovers and science enthusiasts alike. Guests will be able to meet other curious minded people, explore dozens of hands-on exhibits, and participate in “science of beer” activities all while enjoying food and adult beverages that will be available for purchase. Admission is $20 for museum members, and $25 for non-members and includes one drink ticket, exhibits exploration, and science demonstrations. Join Friends of MODS and event admission is free. All attendees must be 21+. IDs checked at door.
Stonewall National Museum – Wilton Manors (2157 Wilton Drive) presents Transgender Veterans Share Their Stories – Panel Discussion at 6:30pm. Presented in Partnership with Transinclusive Group/Flux, SunServe, The Pride Center, and Stonewall National Museum & Archives, four veterans share their stories and experiences while in the military, and their thoughts about being a veteran during this current administration. The discussion will be facilitated by Carson Graham from TransInclusive Group. This event is free to attend with light refreshments being served. Suggested donation $5.

Miami Beach Botanical Gardens Second Saturday Seminar: Winning Plants For All Gardens with Jesse Durko takes place from 10am-12pm. Jessie will be speaking about winning plants for your home, patio and garden. The lecture will feature examples of live plants. An array of species will be available for purchase after his talk.

Noche Latina Saturday’s Inside the Ivy Dance Room and Patio, at the Manor Complex will be celebrating Veterans Day Weekend, with their own Veterans: Lana Novva Lanudde and Champagne Bordeaux. The night will also star guest DJ Larry Larr and sexy Latin Go-Go papi’s. Saturdays at the Manor is from 11pm to 4 am and feature NO COVER before midnight (FL Res) and only $7 for members after midnight and $10 for non-members (18-20 – $12 all night).

Equality Florida presents their annual Broward Gala in the Crystal ballroom at Pier 66 Hotel and Marina from 5:30-9pm. The evening will be MC’d by MBC 6 reporter Jamie Guirola and will include magical creations of style and feathers by L’illusiob du Plumage, exciting live and silent auctions, dancing with DJ Karin Ward, delicious cocktails, sumptuous culinary delights and their annual “State of the State” address presented by Stratton Pollitzer. SAGE of South Florida proudly presents: A Veterans Day Celebration in collaboration with AVER (American Veterans for Equal Rights) featuring Michael Vita, Cary Alexander, Captain Lee Lawson and pianist Hal Roland. The concert will feature songs from the war years 1861 to present. The concert will be held at 2pm in the Main Hall of The Pride Center located at 2040 N. Dixie Highway in Wilton Manors. The concert is free, open to the general public and plenty of free parking will be available. Light refreshments to be served after the performance. Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood will honor veterans with a free performance by the nationally acclaimed “singing artist” Joe Everson, as he creates two patriotic-themed paintings in front of a live audience while singing “God Bless the U.S.A.” and “The Star Spangled Banner.” The performance will take place between the hours of 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. at L Bar near the main entrance of the casino. Veterans with a valid military or veterans I.D. will also receive special giveaways and free slot play.

Georgie’s Alibi/Monkey Bar celebrates the 3rd year anniversary of “Duets” (Antonio Edwards and Lenore Jaye). These two powerhouse voices will bring one night of magic and celebration on the main stage at 9pm.

The entire community is banding together to celebrate the life of one of the best ever: Pompano Bill. The celebration takes place from 6-9pm at The Pride Center at Equality Park. (2040 N Dixie Highway, Wilton Manors).
