The National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), the business voice of the LGBT community, is proud to recognize excellence achieved by NGLCC Local Affiliate Chambers by naming the Miami-Dade Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce as the 2018 NGLCC Chamber of the Year. Each year, the Chamber of the Year is seen as a role model for other chambers and raises the bar for impacting the LGBT business community where they live and work.
“ In 2019 the Miami-Dade Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (MDGLCC) will be celebrating 20 years of excellence serving their community, and we couldn’t be happier to send them into this milestone anniversary year with NGLCC’s top recognition for an affiliate chamber,” said NGLCC Co-Founder and President Justin Nelson and Co-Founder and CEO Chance Mitchell. “President & CEO Steve Adkins, along with his staff, the dedicated Board of Directors, and volunteers, have fostered consistent growth in membership, programming, and corporate partnerships. We are proud to have them as our local partner. We stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the Miami-Dade Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce in the important work of certifying our businesses, connecting our communities, and working toward the full inclusion of LGBT businesses in local contracting opportunities.”
Their honor was presented during the 2018 NGLCC Awards Gala Dinner, held in Washington, D.C. on Friday, November 16. The NGLCC Gala brought together hundreds of LGBT business owners, corporate diversity leaders, elected officials, and representatives from NGLCC Global international affiliates from around the world for an evening of celebration. The Gala also marked the culmination of the third annual NGLCC Global LGBTI Business Week, a summit focused on global LGBTI economic development and human rights through promoting LGBTI business empowerment and inclusion.
“We are beyond excited to be recognized for our work and accomplishments as we pride ourselves for being the Voice of the LGBT & Allied businesses in the Miami-Dade market. This validates our efforts and our constant drive to work for the betterment of our members and their businesses. From our educational programming making business tools available for our members to thrive, to networking opportunities providing exposure, connectivity, awareness, visibility, and referrals to both sponsors and attendees. All of these translating into business growth for our members.” Steve Adkins.
